Mr. Lars Vilgon
މިސްޓަރ ލާރޒް ވިލްގޯން ފުރަތަމަ ރާއްޖެއަށް ޒިޔާރަތް ކުރެއްވީ، 1971 ގައެވެ. މީނާ ރާއްޖެއާ ބެހޭގޮތުން ރިސަރޗް ހައްދަވަން ފަށްޓަވާފައިވަނީ 1972 ގައެވެ. މިގޮތުން، ރާއްޖެއާބެހޭ މަޢުލޫމާތު ހޯއްދެވުމަށްޓަކައި ދުނިޔޭގެ ވަރަށްގިނަ ޤައުމުތަކުގެ ލައިބްރަރީތަކަށާއި، ދާރުލްއާސާރުތަކަށާއި، ޢަރުޝީފުތަކަށް ޒިޔާރަތް ކުރައްވާފައިވެއެވެ. މީގެތެރޭގައި، ސްވިޑްން، ޑެންމާކް، ޖަރުމަން، ހޮލެންޑް، އިނގިރޭސިވިލާތް، ފަރަންސޭސިވިލާތް، އޮސްޓްރިއާ، ޕޯޗުގަލް، ސްޕެއިން، މިސުރު، ޗައިނާ، އިންޑިއާ، ސްރީލަންކާ، މެކާއޯ އަދި އެމެރިކާ ހިމެނެއެވެ. މީނާ ރާއްޖެއަށްވެސް 20 ފަހަރު ޒިޔާރަތް ކުރައްވާފައިވެއެވެ.
ލާރޒް ވިލްގޯން މިގޮތުން އެއްކުރައްވާފައިވާ ކަލެކްޝަންގައި ވަރަށްގިނަ ޢަދަދެއްގެ ފޮތާއި، ލިޔުންތަކާއި، ފޮޓޯއާއި، މައިކްރޯ ފިލްމްތައް ހިމެނެއެވެ. ރާއްޖެއާބެހޭ މަޢުލޫމާތު ހިމެނޭ [މޯލްޑިވް އޮޑް ހިސްޓްރީ]ގެ ނަމުގައި 9 ވޮލިއުމް (ކޮންމެ ވޮލިއުމެއްގައި 258 ޞަފްޙާ) މީނާ އެކުލަވައިލައްވާފައިވެއެވެ. އަދި [މޯލްޑިވްސް އައިލަންޑްސް އެންޑް މިނިކޯއި ބިބްލިއޯގްރަފީ]ގެ ނަމުގައާއި، [މިނިކޯއި އެންތޯލޮޖީ، ބިބްލިއޯގްރަފީ، ވާރޑް ލިސްޓް]ގެ ނަމުގައިވެސް ރާއްޖެއާބެހޭ މައުލޫމާތު ހިމެނޭ ދެ ފޮތެއް ލިޔުއްވާފައިވެއެވެ.
Mr. Vilgon's scholarly interest in the Maldives began after a visit in 1971. He began researching on the Maldives in 1972. He visited several libraries, museums and archives in a number of countries including Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Holland, England, France, Austria, Portugal, Spain, Egypt, China, India, Sri Lanka, Macao and the United States of America to collect information on the Maldives. During the course of his research, he visited the Maldives more than 30 times. His extensive collection on the Maldives includes a number of books, manuscripts, photographs, and microfilms. Mr.Vilgon has compiled a nine-volume anthology on the Maldives entitled, "Maldives Odd History". He also compiled two other books, "Maldives Islands and Minicoy Bibliography" and "Minicoy Anthology, Bibliography, Word List", which contain information on the Maldives.
