އަޅުގަނޑު ދެންމެ އެޑްމިރަލްއާ ބައްދަލުވެ އެބޭފުޅުންނާ އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނާ އެކުގައި މިސަރަޙައްދުގެ، އިންޑިޔާ ކަނޑުގެ ސަލާމަތްކަމާއި އިންޑިޔާ ކަނޑުގެ ހަމަޖެހުން ބެލެހެއްޓުމާ ގުޅޭގޮތުން އަޅުގަނޑުމެން މަޝްވަރާކޮށް ވާހަކަދައްކާ ހެދިން. އަދި އިންޑިޔާ އެޑްމިރަލްޓީއިން، އިންޑިޔާގެ ނޭވީން ވަރަށްބޮޑަށް ތިއްބެވީ އަޅުގަނޑުމެން އެދޭ ގޮތަކަށް. އަޅުގަނޑުމެންގެ ބޭނުންތަކަށް އެކަންކަން ކޮށްދެއްވުމަށް ވަރަށްބޮޑަށް ތައްޔާރަށް. އަދި މިއަދު އަޅުގަނޑަށް މި ލިބުނު ފުރުސަތުގައި ޚާއްޞަކޮށް އަޅުގަނޑު އެދުނީމު، ރާއްޖޭގައި މަސައްކަތް ކުރާނެ ޑޮކްޓަރުން ހަމަ ކުއްލިއަކަށް އަޅުގަނޑުމެން އެބަބޭނުންވެޔޭ. މަދުވެގެން އަޅުގަނޑު އެދުނިން، ކުރިއަށް މިއޮތް ދެތިން ދުވަހުގެ ތެރޭގައި ހަފްތާއެއްހާ ދުވަހުގެ ތެރޭގައި ނަމަވެސް، އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނަށް ތިރީހަކަށް ޑޮކްޓަރުން އަވަހަށް ލިބޭނެގޮތެއް ހަމަޖައްސަވައި ދެއްވުމަށް. އެއީ ވަރަށްގިނަ އަދަދެއްގެ ބަލިތައް، ބޭސްފަރުވާއަށް އެދިތިބި ރައްޔިތުން މިއަދުވެސް ވަރަށްގިނަ. އެމީހުންނަށް ރަނގަޅު ގޮތެއްގައި، އަވަސް ފަރުވާއެއް ދިނުމަށް،އަދި މިހާރު ތޮށްޖެހިފައިހުރި ކަންކަމާއި ވަގުތުން ވަގުތަށް ޙައްލު ކުރެވެން ހުރި ކަންކަން ފުރިހަމަކޮށްދިނުމަށްޓަކައި އެކަމަށް އެދުނީ. ދެން އެކަން އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނަށް ކޮށްދެއްވާނެ ކަމަށް އެބޭފުޅުން އެބަވިދާޅުވޭ.
I would like to thank the Admiral for all the support that the Indian Navy is rendering to the stability of the Indian Ocean. I would also like to express gratitude for Indian assistance, specially military assistance as well in medical and other humanitarian issues in the Maldives. We have a back-lock of patients to have immediate health services and they need it as quickly as possible. We have a very long period of neglect on patients. So we did discuss this issue and I am pleased that the Indian Admiralty, Indian Navy is very receptive to the idea.
We have also shared the Admiralty Chart of the Maldives and you would understand that the last Admiralty survey of the country was done in the 1800s, soon after the Red Sea admiralty survey. Captain Morseby from Bombay Presidency sent letters to the King, I think it was the Sultan Mueenuddin II in Male’. And the King of course wasn’t very receptive to the idea of mapping of his own topography and his own safety. There were all sorts of issues at that time. Finally, the Indian Ocean came into publication much later in the 1900s. We haven’t had a proper Admiralty Chart since then. So after much work, Indian Navy has come up with the new charts. We are thankful for the new charts. All in all, we hope to further strengthen our very good relationship with the Indian military, Indian government and Indian people. Thank you very much!
