Vice President Calls on Judicial Service Commission not to allow Judge Abdulla to sit on the bench until complaints against him are resolved

At a press conference held today, the Vice President has called on the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to prevent Criminal Court Judge Abdulla Mohamed sitting on the bench until all complaints against him are resolved.

He called on JSC to speed up the investigation of all complaints against the Judge. He added the JSC was capable to address the issue.

The Vice President made three propositions to resolve the current political crisis:

- Bring an immediate end to the ongoing unrests in Male’ led by opposition parties

- Release Judge Abdullah Mohamed

- JSC should fulfil its responsibilities

The Vice President urged all parties to resort to dialogue and cooperation.
