His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has sent a message of condolences to His Excellency Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, following the fire at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) earlier today.
In his message, the President conveyed his deep sorrow at learning of the tragedy, which claimed the innocent lives of newborn infants, noting that the Government and people of the Maldives held the bereaved families in their thoughts as they prayed to Almighty Allah to grant them solace during this time of immense grief.
On behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives, the President also offered condolences to Prime Minister Sharif, the government and the brotherly people of Pakistan. He expressed sincere hope that the ongoing investigation into the incident would contribute towards stronger preventative measures in future.
