The Honourable Ngiraibelas Tmetuchl, Minister of Human Resources, Culture, Tourism and Development of Palau, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today, on the sidelines of the SIDS Global Business Network Forum 2026 and Island Investment Forum, which commenced in the Maldives today.
The two sides discussed shared challenges and opportunities facing Small Island Developing States (SIDS), including climate change and sustainable tourism, as well as the importance of strengthening cooperation and promoting investment opportunities for SIDS.
The President reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to working closely with Palau to advance the priorities of SIDS and strengthen their collective voice at the international level.
The SIDS Global Business Network Forum 2026 and Island Investment Forum is being held from 23–25 August and brings together stakeholders from the public, private and development sectors to advance innovative and inclusive partnerships for sustainable and resilient development in SIDS.
