President Mohamed Nasheed has today ratified the Pre-School Administration Bill, passed during the Parliament’s sitting on 21 December 2011.
Following ratification, the Act has been published in the government Gazette today.
The Pre-School Administration Bill states the policies regarding the expansion and growth of pre-school education in the country, with the State’s full involvement, as well as the contribution of City Councils and Island Councils, private corporations and organisations, and private individuals.
It also declares that the government should encourage and facilitate for the institution of pre-schools in all inhabited islands.
