President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has assured that all citizen requests will be addressed within the system, in full compliance with the law and relevant regulations, while prioritising the rectification of ongoing matters and improving the efficiency of existing processes.

The President made these remarks during a consultative meeting with Galolhu district residents at Imaduddin School on Tuesday evening, part of an ongoing series of engagements with the public to identify practical solutions.

During the meeting, the President highlighted several important matters raised during previous consultations that the Administration is actively resolving, two in particular. On housing eligibility, he noted that criteria have been amended based on public feedback — individuals previously allocated one-bedroom flats may now apply for the current scheme and transfer to three-bedroom apartments, subject to meeting the revised criteria and relinquishing their existing units.

The President also addressed public apprehensions regarding the operation of massage parlours. He noted that while inspections have been conducted regularly, a renewed and intensified operation was initiated in response to growing public concern. As a result, 52 massage parlours were closed within a single week, including 24 through the ongoing operation and the remainder voluntarily due to the intensity of the crackdown. He affirmed that the operation would continue.

Addressing the issue of businesses operated by foreign nationals in violation of regulations, the President reiterated the importance of finding a solution. He stated that relevant authorities have intensified enforcement efforts, resulting in the closure of 38 such businesses within the past two weeks.

The President also listened to further matters raised by residents, responding to a range of issues. He affirmed that, following a request from the Galolhu community, the Ministry of Sports, Fitness and Recreation will proceed with developing a sports field in the area. He also addressed questions relating to healthcare costs and education sector expenses.

Concluding the meeting, President Dr Muizzu reaffirmed that every issue raised by the public is important to the Administration. He assured residents that while not all matters could be addressed individually, all would receive serious consideration and he remains committed to resolving them to the fullest extent possible.
