President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed that the construction of 12 new classrooms at Mandhoo School remains a top priority within the Government’s development agenda for the island.

He conveyed this during a meeting held this afternoon at Mandhoo School with senior officials and residents of Mandhoo in South Ariatholhu.

During the meeting, an agreement was formalised to commence the construction of 12 classrooms and a multipurpose hall at Mandhoo School. The project has been awarded to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), with construction scheduled to begin in November 2025 and completion planned before the end of the 2027 academic year.

The President assured the community that his Administration remains committed to delivering the planned projects on schedule and fulfilling all promises made to the island.

In addition to the school development, the President participated in several key ceremonies during his visit, including the groundbreaking of the new ADh. Mandhoo Health Centre building, the initiation of works for a new football ground, the groundbreaking of the ADh. Mandhoo Fitness and Recreation Centre, and the official inauguration of a new Bank of Maldives ATM on the island.

During his meeting with Mandhoo residents, the President engaged with the council members and residents, listening to their concerns and key development needs, assuring tangible solutions. The President was accompanied by several Cabinet ministers and heads of State-owned Enterprises.
