President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the HDh. Naivaadhoo Island Council, the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), and heads of local institutions today to address the island’s most pressing development needs. The meeting took place at the Naivaadhoo School.

During the meeting, council members expressed their satisfaction with the progress of the island’s port expansion project and proposed additional modifications to further enhance its utility. The discussions also focused on several key challenges faced by the community. Council representatives highlighted the shortage of space at the island’s health centre and the absence of an ambulance, both of which have impacted the delivery of healthcare services. They also drew attention to the need for additional power generators to address electricity issues affecting residents.

The President assured the Council that the Government would give due consideration to their concerns and work towards practical solutions. He also provided updates on ongoing development projects. The President was accompanied at the meeting by Cabinet Ministers and senior officials from State-Owned Enterprises.
