Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of the Maldives, Her Excellency Wang Lixin, paid a courtesy call on President His Excellency Dr Mohamed Muizzu this morning at the President's Office.
During the meeting, the President and the Ambassador addressed the issues highlighted during President Dr Muizzu's State visit to China earlier this year, and avenues to expedite implementation of agreed issues.
The Ambassador assured President Dr Muizzu that the Chinese Government would provide all possible assistance to address the urgent needs of the Maldives. She highlighted the close ties between both countries and noted the distinctive bond and importance attached to the Maldives, by the Chinese President His Excellency Xi Jinping . President Dr Muizzu and the Ambassador also discussed ways the two countries can collaborate to promote tourism in the Maldives.
Concluding the meeting, the President and the Ambassador reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations.
The Government's foreign policy is to advance national development through cooperation with all countries.
