President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has participated in the closing ceremony of ‘Miladhekunu Adhabee Eid 2019’ linguistic fair on Dhivehi language. The ceremony was held tonight at the harbour area of Manadhoo island, South Miladhunmadulu Atoll.
As the Guest of Honour, President Solih gave away Miladhekunu Adhabee Eid awards and certificates to the top achieving schools and winning participants.
The Linguistic Eid showcased a children’s cultural evening, a special book fair, poetry skills training programme, linguistic training programme for government institutions and a training programme for students and teachers on Dhivehi Language.
The President was accompanied at the closing ceremony by Yumna Maumoon, Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage and other senior institutional representatives.
Dhivehi Bahuge Academy hosts the annual linguistic Eid to create awareness and passion among students on Dhivehi language. This year, the linguistic Eid was held in Manadhoo Island from the 11th to 14th of September. This is the 5th national level linguistic Eid organized by Dhivehi Bahuge Academy. The eid was previously held in Gaafu Alifu, Gaafu Dhaalu, Lhaviyani and Meemu Atoll.
