Vice President Faisal Naseem has launched the programs to be carried out in creating awareness on prevention of harmful lifestyle habits, as part of the administration’s first 100 days’ goals. The launching was held at Hotel Jen this morning.
At the ceremony, the Vice President presented the letter of appointment to the members of the Health Promotion Advisory Board, tasked with providing recommendations and technical advice on conducting the health awareness programs.
Speaking at the function, Vice President Naseem urged all Maldivians to support the administration in implementing such programs related to social issues. He also highlighted the rise in non-communicable diseases among Maldivians, and noted that previous administrations have had to undertake great expenditure on providing medical care for diseases related to unhealthy life choices.
Further, the Vice President urged everyone to be part of the program, and stressed the importance of instilling awareness among young children, to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
