President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi as the new Chief Justice of the Maldives, at a ceremony held at the President’s Office today. He also appointed Uz. Abdulla Didi and Uz. Abdul Ghanee Mohamed to the Supreme Court bench.
The Parliament has approved the 3 Judges nominated by President Yameen, during its session held last evening.
The 3 Judges took the oath of office before the Supreme Court Judge Hon. Uz. Abdulla Areef. Afterwards, President Yameen presented the letter of appointment to the Chief Justice and the newly appointed Supreme Court Judges.
