Inauguration of Train the Trainer Program for Frontliners

The government of United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the government of Maldives launched the “Train the Trainer Program for Frontliners” under the umbrella of Government Services Workstream of the UAE’s Government Experience Exchange Program today at hotel JEN Maldives.

Government Services Workstream is the second workstream that is being initiated under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in March 2022 between the Government of Maldives and the Government of the United Arab Emirates.

In a recorded speech, Mr. Salim Al Shaami, Director of Government Services Development Department at Prime the Minister's Office of UAE gave the opening remarks, greeting the participants and urging them to embrace this opportunity with open minds and hearts.

He also stated that knowledge is power and when shared, it becomes a catalyst for progress, reminding the transformative potential that lies within education and collaboration.

Speaking on the shared commitment of the UAE government and the government of Maldives to empower and enhance the skills of frontline government employees, Mr. Salim Al Shaami noted that frontline employees are the pillars of our administration serving as the face of public service.

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary, Cabinet Affairs of the President’s Office, Mr. Ahmed Hassan Didi said that improving public service delivery is an important priority of this government and referred to the different initiatives started by the government to achieve efficient service delivery. On this note, he urged the participants to apply the knowledge gained from this program, to treat the citizens visiting government offices as invited guests, and take personal responsibility and ownership to make every aspect of the citizen’s encounter at government organizations a pleasant experience.

Speaking on the UAE government’s sponsorship on several training initiatives to the Maldivian government, Mr. Ahmed Hassan Didi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the UAE government for their generous assistance towards the capacity development of Maldivian government officials and UAE’s unwavering support to develop and modernise the Maldivian public sector.
