President Mohamed Nasheed has met with the people of Shaviyani Maroshi. As part of his tour of some islands of the Northern most atolls, the President visited Maroshi this afternoon.
During his meeting with the people of the island, President Nasheed elaborated on the government’s progress towards delivering its pledges.
In this regard, he highlighted the importance of the health insurance scheme, ‘Madhana’, and said the government wanted to facilitate affordable healthcare for all under the scheme.
Speaking on providing affordable electricity in the islands, the President said the aim of the government’s policy to provide electricity by the provincial utilities companies was providing electricity efficiently, and consequently reducing the price of electricity.
At the meeting with the people, the President responded to the queries of the people regarding the issues related to the development of the island.
