President Nasheed has said that it is the government’s duty to facilitate employment for the people in their native region. He made this statement while speaking to the people of Maalhos this evening.
He said that availability of employment opportunities was necessary factor for the development of a nation and that the government was working towards achieving that goal.
The President also highlighted the importance the government accorded to improve the education system in the Maldives.
He said under the education policy of the government, last year 171 class rooms were added in those schools across the country which had capacity shortages.
In his address, the President also spoke on the developmental projects planned for Maalhos.
