New Ambassador of Norway accredited to the Maldives, Grete LØchen presented his letter of credence to President Dr Mohamed Waheed this morning.
At the ceremony held at the President’s Office to present the credentials, President Waheed congratulated Ambassador LØchen.
Meeting the new Ambassador afterwards, the President and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations that exist between the two countries and ways to further strengthen ties.
President Waheed and Ambassador LØchen also deliberated on the environmental impacts of climate change to the Maldives. The President noted the importance the government accords to promote renewable energy and sustainable development.
He further underscored the efforts of Norway in combating climate change.
Ambassador LØchen re-assured of Norway’s continuous support and cooperation to the Maldives.
