President and First Lady attend official inauguration of "flydubai" to Maldives

President Dr Mohamed Waheed and First Lady Madam Ilham Hussain attended the official inauguration of flydubai flights to the Maldives.

At the ceremony held at Jumeirah Vittaveli Resort last evening, the President expressed his pleasure on the launching of flydubai flights to the Maldives, and extended a warm welcome to the officials and staff of the airline.

In his remarks, President Waheed expressed hope that even though flydubai flights were initially operated to Male’only, it would broaden its flights to other destinations of Maldives in the future.

Stating that flydubai flights would contribute immensely to the tourism sector in the country, the President said that it would open up more opportunities for tourists, especially from Russia and Central Asia.
