New Ambassador of Myanmar accredited to the Maldives, U Myo Lwin has presented his letter of credence to President Dr Mohamed Waheed this morning.
At the ceremony held at the President’s Office, President Waheed extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Lwin.
In a brief meeting afterwards, the President and the Ambassador discussed ways to further strengthen the bilateral ties between Myanmar and the Maldives.
The President expressed his confidence that during Ambassador Lwin’s tenure, the bonds between the Maldives and Myanmar would flourish. The Ambassador and the President also discussed the importance of exploring areas to further the cooperation between the two countries.
At the meeting, Ambassador Lwin said that he was pleased to be in the Maldives and looked forward to working with the Maldivian government.
