Ambassador of the United States accredited to the Maldives Ms Michele J. Sison has today paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Waheed. The meeting was held at the President’s Office.
At the meeting, discussions were held on the current political situation in the Maldives. The President briefed Ambassador Sison on the preparatory steps being taken by the government to ensure a free and fair presidential election next year.
President Waheed expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by the US government, in the investigation of Parliament Member Dr Afrasheem Ali’s murder in October 2012.
