His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended congratulations and sincere felicitations on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives to His Majesty King Haakon VIII on His Majesty’s accession to the throne of the Kingdom of Norway.
In the message sent following His Majesty pledging an oath of allegiance to Norway’s constitution before the country’s parliament, President Dr Muizzu expressed confidence that His Majesty’s leadership will uphold the enduring values and traditions of the Norwegian Monarchy and guide the people of Norway with dedication and distinction.
Highlighting the bilateral relations between the two countries, President Dr Muizzu noted that the Maldives and Norway share close and friendly ties founded on mutual respect and shared values. He expressed his hope for further strengthening the bonds of friendship and bilateral cooperation between the two countries during His Majesty’s reign.
Concluding his message, the President wished His Majesty King Haakon VIII good health and well-being, and conveyed his best wishes for the continued peace, progress and prosperity of the people of Norway.
