President Dr Mohamed Waheed has said that the achievements of an island depended on the unity among the people and support given to each other. The President made this remark while addressing the people of Gulhi of Kaafu Atoll, as part of his visit to the island.
The President said that the credit for the advancements attained in Gulhi goes to the energetic people of the island, and their unwavering determination. In his speech, the President applauded the people of Gulhi for their zero per cent crime rate in the last two years, and expressed his hopes that the people would continue to maintain the same level of moral values in the years ahead.
President Waheed highlighted the measures being taken by the government in solving the issues faced by the people of Gulhi. He also underlined ways to further the development of the island.
In his speech, the President noted the brotherly, united bond among the people of Gulhi, and expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome he received, despite the conflicting political views among them.
