The cabinet has today discussed on strengthening the fire safety systems in Male’, Hulhumale, highly populated inhabited islands, and industrial islands in the Maldives. At today’s meeting, members noted the importance of solving the issues soon, following deliberations on a paper presented by the Ministry of Defense and National Security.
Speaking in this regard, members decided on the immediate steps that needed to be taken in case of a fire incident in buildings in Male’. At today’s meeting, members also decided for the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure, and the Ministry of Defense and National Security, to compile safety standards in the construction of buildings in Male’.
