President opens the football stadium built in Hinnavaru by Palm Beach Resort and Spa

President Mohamed Nasheed has this afternoon opened the football stadium built in Hinnavaru of Faadhippolhu Atoll by Palm Beach Resort and Spa.

Speaking at a ceremony held at the stadium in Hinnavaru, President Nasheed said this stadium would go a long way in assisting the development of the sport in the Maldives.

The President thanked the management of Palm Beach Resort and Spa for its “generous gift” to the people of the Maldives.

Before visiting Hinnavaru this afternoon to open the stadium, the President visited Palm Beach Resort and Spa.

After opening the stadium, the President watched a special football match played between a team from Hinnavaru and a team from Palm Beach Resort and Spa.

President Nasheed has returned to Male’ this evening after concluding his visit to Hinnavaru and Palm Beach Resort and Spa.
