President Dr Mohamed Waheed will this evening deliver his address at the fourth extraordinary session of the Organisation of Islamic Conference that began in Mecca last evening.
King Abdulla Bin Abdul Azeez of Saudi Arabia is chairman of the summit. All Heads of State and Heads of Government of member countries are in attendance at the summit.
The agenda of the summit would mainly focus on four issues: the ongoing situation in Syria, the issues faced by the people of Palestine, the issues faced by the Muslim community in Burma, and the situation in Mali.
The Heads of State and Heads of Government who spoke at last evening’s inaugural session highlighted these issues and noted ways to solve the challenges being faced by the Islamic community.
