President Dr Mohamed Waheed, by decree, has extended the date for submission of the Commission of National Inquiry’s investigative report. The date has been extended to 30 August 2012.
The Commission of National Inquiry is to submit its report to the President, the Speaker of the Parliament, the Prosecutor General, and the Attorney General.
The President made this decision as the commission felt the need for an extension from the original due date, 31 July 2012.
The Commission of National Inquiry was established to make an independent and impartial investigation into developments in the Maldives from 14 January 2012 to 8 February 2012.
