Some members of Meedhoo and Maduvvari councils today met with President Mohamed Waheed. The meeting was held this afternoon at the President’s Office.
Speaking at the meeting, the council members congratulated President Waheed on his assumption of office and conveyed the peoples’ well wishes to the President.
The members also shared with the President, the people’s concerns. They especially noted electricity supply and coastal erosion as major problems faced by the people.
President Waheed assured council members that their issues would be looked into, and necessary measures would be taken.
The President also accepted the invitation made by the council members to visit the islands and said he hoped to visit Raa Atoll in the near future.
