President Dr Mohamed Waheed has this evening telephoned the National Football Team, taking part in the AFC Challenge Cup 2012, and congratulated them on their win against Nepal today. Mohamed Rasheed scored the only goal in the match.
Speaking to Manager Ibrahim Amir, and Captain Ali Ashfaq of the National Team, the President said that the team’s courageous win was a great honour for the whole country. President Waheed commended the team’s performance and conveyed his congratulations to all the players, the coach, the manager and other officials.
Further, the President encouraged the players to put in more effort, and defeat Palestine in their next match on Monday, 12 March.
