The official function to mark this year’s Republic Day will be held tomorrow morning at Dharubaarugé. The event will begin at 10am. The President will address the nation at the ceremony.
At the ceremony, President Nasheed will present national Awards of Honour and Awards of Recognition.
Recipients of Awards of Honour will receive a shield of honour and a badge, while the recipients of Awards of Recognition receive a commemorative plaque and a certificate.
Minister of Home Affairs, Mohamed Shihab will deliver the welcome remarks at the ceremony.
The function will be simulcast live by the Voice of Maldives and Television Maldives.
