President Mohamed Nasheed has sent a message of sympathy to President Mwai Kibaki of Kenya following the petrol pipeline fire in Nairobi.

It was with deep shock and grief that I learned about the petrol pipeline fire in Nairobi, which claimed the lives of many people and caused injury to many more.
At this most difficult hour, the Government and people of Maldives join me in sending our profound sympathy to you, the Government and the people of Kenya.
