President Mohamed Nasheed has held discussions at the Ministry of Health and Family on decentralizing public health services.
Meeting the senior officials of the Ministry today, the President discussed providing public health services in seven administrative regions and posting public health specialists in each of the seven National Offices in seven regions.
The President also exchanged views with the Ministry officials on conducting monthly door-to-door visits in every island by public health workers to keep public health records of each individual up-to-date.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Health and Family Abdul Baari Abdulla, and Deputy Ministers Maria Ali and Lubna Zahir Hussain and other senior officials of Department of Public Health.
