New Vietnamese Ambassador accredited to the Maldives Mr Nguyen Thanh Tan has presented his credentials to President Mohamed Nasheed today.
During the meeting held at the President’s Office this morning, the President welcomed Mr Nguyen Thanh Tan and conveyed warm wishes to the Vietnamese government.
The President and the Ambassador spoke on extending cooperation between the Maldives and Vietnam in the area of commerce and industry.
The President also discussed forming a collaborative partnership with Vietnamese companies to expand aquaculture industry in the Maldives.
The meeting was attended by Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed, Advisor on Political Affairs Mohamed Shihab and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Haula Ahmed Didi.
