President Mohamed Nasheed, during his visit Kulhudhuffushi, visited Kulhudhuffushi Regional Port and toured the newly reclaimed land in the island this morning.

 
Visiting Kulhudhuffushi Regional Port, the President enquired about the operations of the port. The government has decided to give a concession of 30 per cent on import duties of goods unloaded at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Port and Hithadhoo Regional Port.
 
Before today’s Cabinet meeting, the President also toured the new land added to the island. The government reclaimed 28 hectares of land in Kulhudhuffushi, spending Rf109 million.
 
The President later today opened the second hostel of the Maldives College of Higher Education’s Kulhudhuffushi Campus.
 

Construction of hostel building commenced on 17 October 2007. The first hostel of the College’s Kulhudhuffushi Campus opened on 25 June 2005.
