President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that housing allocations under the current Administration will be conducted fairly and impartially, without political favour or outside influence.

The President made these remarks during the television programme 'Nation Chat', which aired on Public Service Media tonight.

The President assured the public that while applications submitted under the social housing scheme are being reviewed, no applicant will receive preferential treatment. Reiterating that housing is a fundamental need, he affirmed that all Government social housing apartments and land plots would be distributed equitably, adding that he maintained full confidence in the officials managing the process.

Turning to local infrastructure development, the President also addressed major development projects underway in the capital city of Malé, calling its roads one of the municipality's most pressing challenges. He highlighted the work underway to improve road quality, mitigate flooding, and resolve chronic parking shortages, but emphasised that a collective civic effort is essential to achieving lasting solutions.

Reaffirming the Administration's commitment to engaging directly with the public, President Dr Muizzu announced plans to launch a programme in the near future to facilitate direct discussions with citizens within individual constituencies.
