President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the challenges affecting development projects in the Maldives, stemming from Middle East tensions, will be resolved and that progress will accelerate significantly in the near future.
He made these remarks at a press briefing held at the President's Office today.
The President shared updates on several key projects underway in the Greater Malé Area and the atolls, assuring that despite recent slowdowns, these challenges will be resolved and work will pick up pace — with any ground lost to delays fully recovered. He emphasised that the swift completion of these projects remains a top priority for the Administration.
In his opening remarks, and prior to addressing questions from the media, the President reaffirmed the Administration's long-term commitment to transparency and proactive information sharing. He noted that ministries are expected to achieve full compliance in disclosing required information within the coming week, and confirmed that the backlog of Right to Information (RTI) requests is being cleared, with overdue queries to be addressed within approximately 15 days.
