First Lady Sajidha Mohamed graced the closing ceremony of the 'Ufakaara' training programme, held at the conference hall of the Ministry of Health, Family and Welfare.
A total of 19 participants completed the training, which aims to improve food safety and quality standards among food producers and vendors across the Maldives, with the First Lady presenting certificates to both the participants and the 17 facilitators who led the programme.
Launched by the Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) in 2017, 'Ufakaara' was established to familiarise food producers and vendors with food safety practices. To date, the programme has been conducted across the Greater Malé Region, Lhaviyani Atoll, Meemu Atoll, Kulhudhuffushi City, Noonu Velidhoo, Fuvahmulah City, Laamu Atoll, and Faafu Atoll.
The ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Health, Family and Welfare, Geela Ali, and other senior officials of the Ministry.
