The President has accepted the resignations of 10 Cabinet Ministers, tendered today to allow him the opportunity to implement the positive Government reforms he envisions in keeping with the aspirations of the people.

Acknowledging their valuable service over the past period, the President expressed his gratitude to the Ministers who stepped down today.

The Ministers who resigned are:

  1. Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon, Minister of Defence
  2. Dr Abdulla Khaleel, Minister of Foreign Affairs
  3. Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim, Minister of Health
  4. Thoriq Ibrahim, Minister of Tourism and Environment
  5. Dr Aishath Shiham, Minister of Social and Family Development
  6. Adam Naseer Ibrahim, Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage
  7. Dr Maryam Mariya, Minister of Agriculture and Animal Welfare
  8. Ibrahim Waheed, Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts
  9. Adam Shareef Umar, Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works
  10. Dr Ali Haidar Ahmed, Minister of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development
