President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has declared Sunday, 5 April 2026, and Monday, 6 April 2026, as official Government holidays.
This decision follows a request from the Elections Commission, recognising that many election officials conducting today's Local Council Election, the Women's Development Committee (WDC) Election, and Public Referendum are State institution employees and civil service members.
