First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has inaugurated the new Emergency Room (ER) and dialysis extension building at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital.

Upon arrival, the First Lady was received by the Chief Executive Officer of Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital, Nazima Ali.

As part of the ceremony, Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim laid the foundation stone for a new isolation facility at the hospital.

In line with the Government’s policy to expand healthcare services across the atolls, Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital is being developed into a tertiary-level facility. The expanded dialysis unit inaugurated today is equipped to treat nine patients simultaneously, while the new Emergency Room has increased capacity with the addition of six beds. The planned isolation facility will include private rooms, a convertible quarantine area, and an auditorium with a seating capacity of 800.

The ceremony was attended by Cabinet Ministers, senior officials of the Ministry of Health, and the management and staff of Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital.
