Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef attended the Maldives national team's opening match at the SAFF U20 Championship.
The match saw the Maldives face Sri Lanka, with Sri Lanka securing a 3–2 victory in a closely contested game.
The Vice President was accompanied by Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation Abdulla Rafiu, Secretary General of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Purushottam Kattel, and President of the Football Association of Maldives (FAM), Ahmed Thariq. This is the first time the Maldives has hosted the SAFF U20 Championship.
