President Dr Mohamed Muizzu attended the final match and closing ceremony of the President’s Cup football tournament, held this evening at the National Stadium.
The final was contested between Odi Sports Club and Maziya Sports and Recreation Club. Ahead of kick-off, The President greeted the players and the match officials. After a closely fought contest, Odi Sports Club secured the title with a 6–5 win on penalties.
At the closing ceremony, the President presented the championship trophy and medals to the winning team.
First held in 1946, the President’s Cup this year commemorates 80 years since its inception.
