His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed a message of condolence to His Excellency Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr, President of the Republic of the Philippines, following the capsizing of a ferry in southern Basilan.
In his message, the President expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and the many people reported missing as a result of the tragic incident.
On behalf of the Government and people of the Maldives, he extended heartfelt condolences and sympathies to President Marcos Jr, the government, the people of the Philippines, and the bereaved families.
The President also wished for a swift recovery for those injured and expressed hope for the successful continuation of the search and rescue operations.
