President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed have observed the Fish Filleting Competition held in R. Dhuvaafaru to commemorate this year's Fishermen's Day.
The event was the final competition held in Dhuvaafaru as part of the Fishermen's Day celebrations. It featured separate categories for men and women, with winners selected for first, second, and third places in each section. Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources Ahmed Shiyam presented awards to the winners.
Prior to this, a cooking competition titled 'Rahavaru' was held to mark the occasion. The First Lady graced the closing ceremony and presented awards to the winning teams.
The official function to mark Fishermen's Day is scheduled to take place this evening.
