His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed have hosted a luncheon for the Palestine U-17 football team. The event was held at Hotel Jen Ballroom this afternoon.
The team is currently in the Maldives for a training camp ahead of the AFC U-17 Asian Cup qualifiers. During their visit, they played two friendly matches against the Maldivian U-17 team. President Dr Muizzu and Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef purchased limited-edition souvenir tickets for these matches, with all proceeds donated to the Palestinian Football Association to support efforts to rebuild and develop football in the war-torn nation.
Senior Government officials and members of the Maldives U-17 team were also in attendance at the luncheon.
