China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) has donated stormwater pumps to the Government of Maldives.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu attended the official handover ceremony held today at Hulhumalé Central Park. Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by the Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, Dr Abdulla Muththalib.
The pumps were officially handed over by Liu Xiaoda, Deputy General Manager of CMEC, while Minister of Defence, Mohamed Ghassaan Maumoon, received them on behalf of the Government of Maldives.
A total of six stormwater pumps have been donated to the Maldives and will be deployed in the Greater Malé region, according to the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure.
H.E. Kong Xianhua, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Maldives, along with officials from CMEC, were also in attendance.
