President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the citizens of all inhabited islands across four atolls for the warm welcome and exceptional hospitality extended to him during his successful eight-day tour.
Addressing the residents of Th. Thimarafushi, the final stop on his comprehensive tour of 31 islands in Felidheatholhu, Mulakatholhu, North Nilandheatholhu, and Kolhumadulu, the President extended his thanks to the public.
He highlighted that citizens from every island shared their needs and priorities with him and his delegation, and noted that this direct engagement enabled the tour to successfully achieve its core objective of connecting with local communities.
The President noted that the tour yielded significant results, with a total of 40 agreements signed, 60 new projects commenced, and 24 projects completed. The visit also featured the launch of Bank of Maldives ATM services on several islands, ensuring banking facilities are now available on all inhabited islands across these four atolls.
Highlighting that the highest number of projects were initiated in Kolhumadulu, the President stated that the atoll, which had been excluded from the development radar for too long, has now been brought directly to the centre of the nation's development agenda.
