The Non-Resident Ambassador of Nepal to the Maldives, His Excellency Dr Purna Bahadur Nepali, presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, at a ceremony held this morning at the President's Office.
The Ambassador was escorted to the President’s Office from Republic Square in a cultural procession, “Haiykolhu,” with the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band.
Following the presentation of credentials, the President and the Ambassador discussed strengthening the long-standing bilateral ties between the Maldives and Nepal in mutual areas of interests, including cooperation in health care, agriculture, and education.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Nepal were established on August 1, 1980.
