The Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Sardor Rustambaev, presented his Letter of Credence to His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu at a ceremony held this morning at the President’s Office.
The Ambassador was escorted from Republic Square to the President’s Office in a traditional “Haiykolhu” cultural procession, accompanied by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band.
Following the presentation of his credentials, the President warmly welcomed the Ambassador to the Maldives.
The President and the Ambassador discussed potential areas of collaboration, including trade, economic development, and the expansion of educational cooperation. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the close bilateral relations between the two nations.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Uzbekistan were established on December 7, 1994.
