The Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe to the Republic of Maldives, Her Excellency Stella Nkomo, presented her Letter of Credence to His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu at a ceremony held this morning at the President's Office.
The Ambassador was escorted from Republic Square to the President’s Office in a traditional “Haiykolhu” cultural procession, accompanied by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band.
Following the presentation of her credentials, the President welcomed the Ambassador to the Maldives. The two engaged in discussions on matters of mutual interest, during which the Ambassador highlighted the potential for strengthening bilateral relations. Both sides expressed a shared commitment to expanding economic cooperation, with a particular focus on the exchange of expertise in the tourism sector.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and the Republic of Zimbabwe were established on January 7, 1987.
