President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Ismail Naveen as the new Commissioner of Police.
The official ceremony to present the insignia of office was held this afternoon at the President's Office.
Since joining the Maldives Police Service in 2006, Commissioner of Police Naveen has held several key leadership roles, including Head of the Corporate Services Directorate, Head of the People Directorate, Head of the Central Policing Command, and Head of the Forensic Services Directorate, before his most recent position as Deputy Commissioner of Police.
The new Commissioner holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Northumbria, England.
